Easy Sheet Cookie

This is not the sheet cookie, but unfortunately, I did not have a picture to share of them this time. So, by the next time you check back to remake this delicious treat, there will be new pictures and maybe even Lauryn’s chewy chocolate chip recipe to share with you as well. Beware of the Cookie Monster!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and have a clean — 9x13 inch baking sheet ready. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and combine by hand. The mixture will be very dry and crumbly.

2 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup butter — cold, grated/shredded

1 cup chocolate chips

2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp freshly cracked salt

Place mixture on baking sheet, level and tamp by hand. Evenly spread 1/2 tsp of salt across the top of the cookie.

Set timer for 20 minutes and put the cookie on its sheet in the oven. After 20 minutes, take a peak if you like your cookies blonde on top and soft on the inside — that’s probably enough, if you like a crunchy and deeply caramel cookie, give it another few minutes to darken the top and crunch-if your batch.

Once removed from the oven let sit for two minutes, then with a knife or pizza wheel cutter, portion into approximately one inch squares.  Let cool, enjoy and share in a cookie tin or hide them from the Cookie Monster
